In Memory of Shirley Williamson Ireland
Shirley Williamson Ireland, 80, of Mesic, died Monday, June 1, 2015 at Carolina East Medical Center.
The daughter of the late Mary & Mead Williamson, she was born in Lowland, NC on August 11, 1934. She was a member of Hobucken United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle T. Ireland; daughter, Miriam Violet Mayo; and three grandchildren, Stephanie Annette Mayo, Zackery Ernest Mayo and Celes Faron Mayo.
She is survived by three sons, Gary Mayo and wife, Rhonda, of Mesic, Ernest Mayo Jr. and wife, Wendy, of Wilmington and Darin Mayo and wife, Helena, of Mesic; daughter, Shirley Ireland and husband, Casper, of Lowland; two brothers, Wade Williamson of Hobucken and Phil Williamson of Lowland; sister, Sammie Carawan of Aransas Pass, TX; 10 grandchildren, Eric Potter, Amber Mayo, Darin Mayo Jr., Kevin Deolivera, Karah Sawyer, Ryan Mayo, Violet Mayo-Britt, Holly Mayo-Ireland, Nick Mayo, and Samuel Mayo; and three great-grandchildren, Preston Mayo, Cameron Deolivera and Claire Mayo.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 4th at Hobucken United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roy Rodgers officiating. Interment will follow immediately in Lowland Community Cemetery.
The family will receive friends and relatives any time at her home, 880 Air Strip Rd., Mesic.
In lieu of flowers the family suggested memorial contributions be made to Hobucken United Methodist Church, PO Box 123, Hobucken, NC 28537 or the Goose Creek Island Community Center, PO Box 43, Hobucken, NC 28537.
