Cupid to visit Goose Creek Island this weekend
Remember back in the day when it was exciting to give and receive those little Valentine's Day cards? We used to exchange them in school, on the school bus, at church and gave them to our parents and grandparents. Lots of thought went into each one to make sure you gave an appropriate card based on personality, looks, friendliness, and character. All the boys would get the super hero or sporty cards and the girls always got the Barbie or cutesy cards.
So, do any of ya'll have any plans for Valentine's weekend? Come on out to the Goose Creek Island Community Center Saturday evening for a Community Valentine's Bash on the Island. The event starts at 6:00pm and everyone is welcome to come.....whether you are an Islander or "off-Islander".
This event is sponsored by the Goose Creek Island Community Development Committee and they will have bingo with prizes, a cake walk, music and karaoke. They'll even have a photo booth set up in the corner so you and your Valentine can have your picture taken together. Pizza, salad, drinks and snacks will be served up, so come hungry. The event is free and donations are welcome.
I hope this community event is a success and will become an annual tradition. As we all know, Goose Creek Island community events are based on love and caring, rather than business or money. So bring that sweetheart of yours down to the Island Saturday night and enjoy the fellowship.
P.S. - No Juston Lewis, you can not set up a kissing booth at this party!
