In Memory Rex Potter Sr.

 Minor Rex Potter Sr., 92, went home to be with our Lord Friday, December 6, 2013. He was born May 6, 1921 to Thurman Potter and Emma Mercer of Lowland.

Rex had four brothers and one sister. One brother, Orien, survives.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine; two sons, Rex Potter Jr. and wife June and Dan Potter; two daughters, Francis Nethercutt and husband Gerald and Cathy Casey and husband Jerry; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Rex served 38 months in the Navy aboard the USS Estes in the South Pacific. Afterwards, he and his lovely wife moved to Reelsboro and farmed until he retired. As a community service he served 14 years on the Board of Education and it is quite remarkable that he and Catherine have been married 69 years. He was known as the "Collard Man" of Reelsboro.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, at Reelsboro Christian Church with Dr. Robert Cayton and Pastor Riley Green officiating. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Pollock-Best Funeral Home from 7 – 9 p.m. Saturday.
